Calgary Zoo Penguin Plunge

Featuring the Antarctic's best-dressed residents, this visitor-favourite exhibit features a dynamic "Southern Lights" display. The lighting is a visual representation of the Antarctic's Aurora Australis intended to make the Penguins feel at home. The lighting design was recognized with an IES Award of Merit in 2013. It's definitely one of the highlights of the Calgary Zoo!

This multi-facetted entertainment venue includes gaming areas, restaurants, entertainment stage, meeting areas and underground parkade. The electrical design featured spectacular architectural lighting, access control and CCTV, emergency and UPS back-up power systems and fibre optic communications.
